A Tale From The Coffee House

portrait

Last November I was in Iceland.

I met a friend in Borgarnes, a little town I had never been to before.

We went to a coffee house called Blómasetrið.

It was like someones living room…

comfy sofas, books and paintings

…. it was very nice.

A waitress took our order.

I picked up a book about an artist called Michelle Bird.

I browsed.

The waitress returned with the coffee

and my friend recognised her…

as the woman in the painting opposite me.

They spoke for a few moments…

she pointed towards the book.

Michelle Bird did the portrait a few years ago.

I went onto the balcony and shot the mountain with my mobile.
