The Elements Seen

I watched you gazing
over the sea to the horizon
at a strip of deep blue green
shimmering unworldly
between the elements seen

I knew
you’d answered your life task
in the classrooms
where young minds ask

you read children
as poetry and words unseen
filling their un-worldliness
with a teachers love.
